Kate Fordham McClendon Introduction

Hi, my name is Kate McClendon and I am from Dallas, Texas. I am a Junior Finance major with plans to graduate in May of 2024. I spend much of my time traveling, playing golf, and going on hikes. Over this past year, I had the opportunity to work with a commercial real estate shop in Dallas as well as begin the process of obtaining my real estate license. Moreover, I started with a local commercial real estate firm in their Industrial Tenant Rep side at the beginning of this semester. My short-term career goals include advancing my business development in the Bryan/College Station market as well as closing a few industrial transactions during my time in college. In the long term, I would like to work as an office tenant rep broker at a firm in Dallas. With that being said, I hope this class will give me the opportunity to further my understanding of the industry and the opportunities available to me.

My go-to fun fact is that I have played guitar for more than half of my life. Some things I would love to do in the future include playing golf throughout various courses in Scotland, hiking the Napali Coast in Kauai, and one day coming back to TAMU to order a diamond for my Aggie Ring. I've heard many different theories for why someone would add a diamond to their Aggie Ring, but my favorite theory is that you've earned one after you've made your first million dollars. I hope to one day earn one!

My favorite website that I recently began looking at is the Dallas Business Journal. I would recommend this site to anyone from Dallas or with plans to move to Dallas.

Although I grew up near the city, my favorite piece of real estate is my family's lake house on Cedar Creek. This is where I learned to drive a boat, wakeboard, and wake surf. I spent many weekends here growing up and love to come back whenever I can. The photo I chose is of our boat dock where I spent many evenings watching the sunset with family and friends.
